HAMWIEH ENGINEERING & TRADING was founded
in 1975 at the Syrian capital Damascus, starting with an operation
limited to Engineering and Contracting; whereas the company
executed many projects under contracts with the Syrian government,
like schools, level warehouses, factories, public squares and
maintenance workshops, until 1979.
In 1980, the company's operation moved to the
Kingdome of Saudi Arabia, and lasted there until 1987, a period
that witnessed the conclusion of many contracts, ranging from
schools, to residential and commercial buildings, as well as
private villas, and roads; all in partnership with Saudi businessmen.
In 1988 HAMWIEH E&T resumed its operation
in Syria, adding to its engineering works the domains of trade
(import/export, real estate) and advertising.
In 2002, a new establishment was inaugurated
by HAMWIEH E&T, dedicated to the treatment of the notoriously
solid Syrian stone; whereas its field of specialty ranges from
the cutting of the stone, to its crafting, polishing, and shaping,
and eventually exporting it to several countries like the United
States, Europe, Greece and the Arabian Gulf states.
And with 2003 came a new chapter in the history
of HAMWIEH E&T, with its importing of raw material for the
textile industry from a number of international companies, to
the benefit of textile factories all over Syria.
